What we've been up to...

Tues. I got to go with Janessa's kindergarten class to the zoo. She was just super excited to ride the bus :) It was fun to watch her with her school friends. Tyson kept waving to all the animals saying 'come here zebras (or whatever we were looking at)', he LOVED them all. We'll have to go more this summer since they're all old enough to really enjoy it.

Last week Hallie learned to land her front flip, and do a back handspring without a spot. She can also do a roundoff back handspring on the long tramps at gymnastics. I love that she is a very determined little girl and practices hard at whatever she wants to learn!

My new best friend.....
Andrew has been doing several projects these last few weeks. He built much-needed shelves in the garage, beadboarded the dining room (I'll post pictures when it's painted), and is going to build a big shelf on one of Tyson's walls. I never knew a saw (is that what it is?) could bring so much joy :)

Lil' dirtbike & more dirtbikes...

Andrew brought home this last week.....

He's been wanting to get Tyson a little bike, seriously, since he was born and his friend had a deal he couldn't refuse. Hallie's ridden it a few times but it needs training wheels before Janessa and Tyson can ride it. I haven't decided if I'm happy about the idea yet...

This weekend we went to the SLC Motocross race for Andrew's birthday. It was really cool to be able to see in real life what he waits each weekend to watch on TV. We had awesome seats and got to see a few of the riders in the pits. The only thing that would have made it a perfect weekend would have been no rain and about 30 degrees warmer, we froze! It was all worth it when Stewart won!
Least favorite rider- Chad Reed, but hey, it's a good picture :)

Easter

I especially loved Easter this year. I was not looking forward to having to do sharing time on Easter, but preparing for it really helped me focus and feel the spirit. I am so grateful for our Savior and for all that he went through because he loves us.

We had the Davies' Easter dinner Sat. night and the Lord's on Sun.-

I hope to have professional pictures taken in their Easter clothes, but we took a few before church (they look cold & they were!)-

After church the kids wanted to try their new bubbles from the easter bunny- Tyson's lasted about 5 minutes when he spilled the entire thing on his pants :)

I had to get a quick video of Hallie's new trick-! She's been working on these in her tumbling class and now she's a pro :) All-in-all we had a great weekend and can't wait for more warm weather!!

Adding a little color...

So a few weeks ago we went out to lunch for a bunch of friends' birthdays and my sister made them these way cute cards with this paper that I loved. Being the crafty person that she is, she made some picture frames with the same paper for me and brought them over (thanks Steph!). I was reallly getting sick of everything being red, black and white so I thought I'd figure a way to bring out the color in these frames. Now, I am not a crafty person, or a great decorator but I thought maybe I could pull off red with turquoise (our couches are red, so I don't have a choice there). I REALLY want to paint the entire house, but Andrew's not so hip on that idea, so I think this looks better at least for now... Then since our living room, dining room, and kitchen are pretty much one room, I got some plates to match to hang in the dining room. These might come down soon since I think I've convinced Andrew to hang beadboard 5-6 ft. high in the dining room (finger crossed)... Am I the only one that has a husband that freaks out if any hole is put in the wall....? Just wondering, not complaining :) And of course, the kids had to paint while I was painting frames... it started out OK, but by the end Tyson had painted the table and chair he was using and had just started on the sheetrock when I caught him (luckily they were down stairs!). Little stinker.... I mean sweet little boy...

Spring Break

We really didn't have a very exciting spring break this year. I think the girls were actually looking forward to going back to school today! We did go to Blast Off with friends on Monday and went to see "Bedtime Stories" (SO cute!), but other than we just stayed home and lounged around-- Janessa seriously was not up before 9 any one morning! Random Pics...

We've taken a few funny pictures lately. For family home evening last week we had a bubble blowing contest and, ya', Andrew won. He did cheat though- he had 4 pieces of gum! Ugh! My sister made this cute paint bucket full of FHE ideas for Christmas and this is what Janessa chose for the evening.
Yesterday for St. Patrick's Day Hallie & Janessa wanted shamrocks painted on their cheeks. What an artist :) JK

Then, yesterday we got Tyson some new unders so he (I) can start potting training. I've been dreading this for a long time. I know he's ready, I'm the one that's not ready :) So wish us luck and if you have any tips on potty training boys I'm all ears!!

Weekend in Utah

This last weekend was a fun time spent with friends. We left early Sat. morning and shopped in Park City, then came back to Layton and went to Red Lobster that night-
(Amberlee, SueAnn, Chantri, Nichelle, Janeal, myself, Stephanie)
Afterwards SueAnn had the great idea to go to Krispy Kreme- SO glad we went! They are pure heaven. Yes, we are grown-ups but couldn't resist a picture with "the hats"- And the best part was coming home to this sign hanging in the front window :) Andrew and the kids had a fun time also with their friends. Thanks everyone for the fun time and the sore cheeks from laughing so hard! I can't wait to go again :)
